Carl Potter and his wife Deb founded Potter and Associates International, Inc., a safety management consulting firm in 1992. Previously, he spent 17 years in the electric utility industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from Oklahoma City University, is a certified safety professional, certified flight instructor, and private pilot. As an aviation enthusiast, he is an advocate with the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), member of Angel Flight Oklahoma, and is a supporter of Pure Joy International. He is a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
